Case study
General Manager Recruitment: Regional Estate
The challenge
The estate was heading into a handover in general management and needed a GM who could take on the whole venue: day to day operations, the team and the events side of the business. The owners wanted real senior experience and someone who could be across both the commercial and guest experience from week one.
Our approach
We screened for operators rather than titles, looking for someone who had run a business end to end and had both sold and delivered events. The candidate we put forward had worked through wedding and events sales and operations with a large hotel group, then run a premium residential complex as GM. References were completed before the owners met her, and her availability allowed a handover period with the outgoing GM.
The outcome
The owners got the operator they briefed for: strong references, the operations and events experience the estate needed, and a start date that gave the venue a clean handover.
